Kabile Skills Training Project – Volunteer Opportunity
Intercessory Organisation Network Limited (ION) is seeking passionate and committed volunteers to support the Kabile Skills Training Project, a rural community empowerment initiative in the Situmbeko Area, Chibombo District, Zambia. The project focuses on vocational skills development, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and community wellbeing.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Volunteers will support community development activities, including:
- Supporting vocational training programmes in tailoring, catering, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.
- Mentoring youth and community members in practical skills, leadership, and personal development.
- Supporting community health and nutrition awareness activities.
- Assisting with child growth monitoring activities, including measuring and recording children’s growth indicators such as weight, height, and nutritional status under appropriate health guidance.
- Educating parents and caregivers on child nutrition, healthy feeding practices, hygiene, and early childhood wellbeing.
- Identifying children who may require additional support and referring cases to appropriate health services.
- Supporting data collection, documentation, and reporting of community health and child development activities.
- Assisting with workshops, community outreach, and awareness campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills:
We welcome volunteers with experience or interest in:
- Child health, nutrition, or community health.
- Growth monitoring and promotion.
- Early childhood development.
- Nursing, nutrition, public health, or related fields.
- Community development and outreach.
- Training, mentoring, and capacity building.
- Data collection and reporting.
Applicants should be passionate about improving the wellbeing of children and families, willing to work in rural communities, and able to collaborate with local teams and community members.
Volunteer Commitment:
Both short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities are available. The level of involvement will depend on the volunteer’s skills, availability, and project needs.
