    Book giveaways and informational events around the city

    The mission of Brooklyn Book Bodega is to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids 0-18 in NYC. Research shows that kids who read have stronger vocabulary, do better in school, and have more opportunities in life. We provide access to and ownership of children’s books, build community, and create a passion for learning through free events and literacy-based community programming.

    Join us to volunteer at Brooklyn Book Bodega events around NYC.

    Volunteer with us at one or more of our upcoming events below! In these shifts you will be setting up and cleaning up events, lifting/placing boxes of books, talking to the public, among other fun tasks.
