Studio D Volunteer Fall 2026
Details
Description
We are seeking volunteers, ages 14+, to assist in our Studio D: Arts School for All Abilities classes. Volunteers work alongside our faculty and students providing support in our Dance & Music, Ballet, Musical Theater, Theater, and Ballet classes onsite at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The majority of our students have a disability, cognitive and/or physical, and we group our classes by age range, starting at age 4 through adults. Apply on our website and from there selected applicants will be invited for a Zoom interview. If accepted, new volunteers are required to attend a 1-hour virtual training and a 2-hour orientation in-person at the Center. Volunteers support the same class(es) each week for a full session length and we are currently seeking volunteers for our 15-week spring classes that will meet from January 26 to May 23, 2026. Aside from consistent availability, we seek volunteers who have the following traits:
- Empathy and compassion
- Problem solvers and independent thinkers
- Transparent communication (in the room and via email/phone)
- Curiosity and open-mindedness
- Great sense of creativity and play!
This opportunity is perfect for individuals looking for community service hours in the performing arts or education sectors. A performing arts background is not necessary but it is welcomed. Lastly, in every class we have a licensed therapist present so this is a great opportunity for OT/PT/SLP folks seeking experience or volunteer hours in the field.
