Help a Child Learn to Read!

    Make a Difference - Tutor a Child

Do you have an hour a week to change a child's life? The Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC) helps early elementary students learn to read, and we need your help! Tutors work one-on-one with a K, 1st or 2nd grade student at an Alexandria City Public School, twice a week in 30-minute sessions. Tutoring occurs in the schools during the school day, October through May. ATC provides training, materials and ongoing support. It's important to honor the year-long commitment because you really will become a Book Buddy and your student will look forward to seeing you every week.
