Position:
The Board of Directors of La Comida is seeking additional volunteer members. Board service is a unique opportunity to lend your expertise in supporting seniors who are food-insecure in our community. The Board is composed of up to 18 volunteers, who serve at least one three-year term and may serve a second term. The Board’s primary mission is governance and fundraising through outreach, individual donations, and support for fundraising campaigns.
La Comida serves more than 300 nutritious meals each day. We have two locations in Palo Alto – one in South Palo Alto and one in downtown Palo Alto. All our meals are cooked and served fresh each day, prepared according to registered dietitians’ guidelines by the County of Santa Clara Senior Nutrition Program.
The board conducts its work through four committees: Fundraising and Marketing, Finance, Personnel, and Strategic Planning, as well as board meetings every other month.

Board members are expected to contribute 2-5 hours per month in support of the mission. Other requirements include:

The ideal candidate will be collaborative and enjoy working with other community members. We seek individuals to join us with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Board members must be 18 years old. We welcome a diversity of experiences and backgrounds.
Compensation:
This is a volunteer role, requiring 2-5 hours per month.
Location:
San Francisco Bay Area, as board meetings are held via Zoom, and regular visits to La Comida are encouraged.
