    Description

    Join District 7 Park Commissioner Joe Flores, the office of Councilmember Rick Jennings and Pocket Area Churches Together (PACT) in partnership with the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of park beautification.

    Volunteers will plant, stake and spread mulch to approximately 20 new trees. The planting holes will already be pre-dug and backfilled, making them easy to clear and ready for planting.

    No tree-planting experience necessary! We'll provide a demonstration on proper planting techniques and safety. practices.

    Trees and stakes are provided through a generous partnership between SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.

    All tools and supplies will be provided by YPCE.

    What to bring:

    • Work gloves
    • Closed toe shoes
    • Weather appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty
    • refillable water bottles
    • Community spirit

    Youth groups and students can receive credit for volunteer hours.
