    Description

    Position Overview

    This remote volunteer role focuses on fundraising, donor development, grant writing, and corporate partnerships. You will help build the financial resources that make A Million Thanks’ military and veteran support programs possible. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, business outreach, and corporate sponsorship strategy.

    Preference will be given to candidates who have a strong interest in supporting service members, veterans, and the mission of A Million Thanks.

    Expected Responsibilities

    • Research corporations, foundations, and community partners for potential sponsorships
    • Develop and draft sponsorship packages and partnership proposals
    • Write outreach emails and follow-up communication with companies and donors
    • Conduct grant research and assist with drafting letters of inquiry and grants
    • Build and maintain a fundraising prospect database
    • Support donor relations (thank-you messages, updates, stewardship communication)
    • Prepare talking points and materials for partnership and donor meetings
    • Track sponsorship deadlines, deliverables, and outreach efforts
    • Collaborate with the Communications team to produce graphics and materials for campaigns
    • Contribute ideas to fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and special initiatives

    Specific Skills We’re Looking For

    • Strong professional writing and communication skills
    • Ability to speak confidently and professionally with corporate contacts
    • Organized and detail-oriented
    • Research-oriented thinker
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Comfortable learning new tools (email platforms, Google Drive, CRM-type systems)
    • Positive attitude and genuine interest in supporting military and veteran-focused programs
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
