A driver's license or other photo ID is required. Must be able to listen/read and follow instructions, protocol, procedures to ensure safety and well-being of the cats. Team collaboration, non-defensive learning and stair climbing required.
Description
Peter Zippi Memorial Fund is seeking adult volunteers (18+) to support daily cat care at our shelter in Hermosa Beach.
This role is custodial-forward.
Primary responsibilities include litter box scooping, kennel and room cleaning, food and water bowl refresh, laundry, and general upkeep. Time with the cats is part of every shift, but caring for their environment is a top priority.
Current Open Shifts
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00–9:00 AM OR 7:30-9:30 AM
- Thursday: 10:30-12:30 and 12:30–2:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM AND 12:00-2:00 PM
- Sunday: 3:00-5:00 PM
Volunteers commit to the same 2-hour shift each week. Orientation and training are provided, including partnering with a seasoned volunteer during the on boarding process.
This role is a great fit for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with routine cleaning tasks as well as cat enrichment.
