    Description

    Bourbon & Bluegrass 2026

Bourbon & Bluegrass, our biggest fundraiser of the year, is back at President Lincoln’s Cottage on May 2nd and 3rd! This year, we’ll have two days of music, food, drinks, and fun to raise money for the preservation of President Lincoln’s Cottage. We’re looking for volunteers 17 years or older to work either day from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm in a variety of roles. Volunteers will help with everything from greeting visitors and facilitating kids’ games to serving cocktails. Volunteers will receive a light lunch and anyone who volunteers on one day (Saturday or Sunday) will receive a free ticket ($70 value) to enjoy the event on whichever day they’re not working. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and we appreciate your support! If you’re interested in learning more about volunteering, reach out to us at volunteers@lincolncottage.org. You can learn more about the event here: https://www.lincolncottage.org/event/bourbon-bluegrass/.

    About President Lincoln's Cottage:

The mission of President Lincoln's Cottage is to preserve the Cottage and grounds as place to better connect people to the true spirit of the Lincolns, build empathy, and inspire them to act upon their own brave ideas for social justice. As a part of our mission, President Lincoln’s Cottage serves as a "home for brave ideas”, the inspiring location in Washington, DC is where Abraham Lincoln developed the Emancipation Proclamation and made crucial decisions about the Civil War. Living at the Cottage brought him closer to the war's human cost and to diverse communities that influenced his thinking.
