    Museum Front Desk Receptionist

    The American Military Museum, located in South El Monte, California, is a non-profit institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing our nation’s military history through a unique collection of vehicles and artifacts.     Position Overview

    We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to serve as Front Desk Receptionists. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with people, have a keen eye for detail, and want to gain valuable experience in a dynamic museum environment. Whether you’re looking to fulfill community service hours or simply want to contribute to a meaningful cause, this opportunity is for you!

    Responsibilities

    • Visitor Greeting: Welcome and assist visitors at the front desk, providing a warm and informative introduction to the museum.
    • Payment Processing: Learn and use the Square payment system to handle ticket sales and transactions.
    • Safety Policy: Inform visitors about museum safety policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
    • Souvenir Inventory: Assist with managing and organizing souvenir inventory, including restocking items and helping with sales.

    Qualifications

    • Friendly Demeanor: Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude when interacting with visitors.
    • Attention to Detail: Ability to handle transactions accurately and manage inventory efficiently.
    • Quick Learner: Willingness to learn and use the Square payment system and other museum tools.
    • Community Service: Ideal for high school students (minimum age 16) seeking community service hours, or for anyone interested in gaining valuable volunteer experience.
