    Description

    Job Descriptions: We are looking for a dedicated Writer to work for our organization. Staff allow our organization to provide 90% of our services and resources to those who are in need at no cost to the community.

    The ideal Grant Writer candidate will work as a team member, conduct research, and collect resources. Write coherent, organized, and compelling proposals. You will apply your knowledge of fundraising methods and plans to reach income goals. You will collaborate with team members in the organization to assist with other fundraising projects and develop relationships with key stakeholders. The candidate will develop the skill that is required for fundraising.

    This position is only payable if one qualifies for the Federal Work Study Program. Others may still apply as a Volunteer or Unpaid Intern.

    Hours: 10+hours /week

    Location: Richmond Virginia/ Remotely Time: Varies

    Grant Writer Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with the company executives directors
    • Developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders.
    • Displaying adherence to the organization’s mission.
    • Maintaining proficient knowledge of the organization’s history and programs.
    • Assisting with the execution of the development department's strategy.
    • Identifying grant funding opportunities.
    • Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
    • Furnishing prospective funders with supporting documents.
    • Collaborating with Executive Director and Director of Development to send funders newsletters, and to promote on-site tours.
    • Collaborating with the Director of Development to compile an annual report.
    • Maintaining records in hard copies and computer databases.

    Writer Requirements Grant:

    • Currently enrolled college student English, creative writing, grant writing, related field.
    • Bachelor's degree in creative writing or related field preferred.
    • Grant writing experience IS a PLUS nut not required
    • Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
    • Proficient with Google, MS Office Word, and Excel.
    • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Flexible with strong people skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines.
