    Description

Looking for a flexible, meaningful way to support pets and people in the Kansas City community? đź’š

The Pet Resource Center of Kansas City is seeking a reliable volunteer to help serve as a Primary Monthly Delivery Driver for one of our pet food pantry delivery routes.

This role supports clients who are homebound or otherwise unable to access our Pet Food Pantry in person. Volunteers deliver pet food and supplies directly to households throughout the KC metro, helping ensure pets stay fed, healthy, and together with the people who love them.

This is a small but incredibly important commitment that makes a direct impact every single month.

    What You’ll Do

    • Pick up pre-packed delivery orders from our clinic
    • Load supplies into your personal vehicle
    • Complete approximately 6–10 delivery stops along a designated route
    • Deliver pet food and supplies to clients with kindness and professionalism

All deliveries are organized and prepared ahead of time by PRCKC staff and volunteers, making this an easy and flexible opportunity for volunteers who enjoy independent service work.

Routes can often be adjusted slightly depending on where you live or what area of the metro is most convenient for you.

    Time Commitment

    • Typically 45 minutes–1.5 hours total
    • Once per month
    • This route is usually completed during the 3rd weekend of each month

    Ideal Volunteer

This role may be a great fit for someone who:

    • Wants a consistent but low-time-commitment volunteer opportunity
    • Enjoys independent/flexible volunteer work
    • Has Friday/Weekend availability
    • Is dependable and comfortable driving throughout the metro
    • Wants to make a direct impact on both pets and people

    Requirements

    • Valid driver’s license
    • Reliable personal vehicle
    • Ability to lift and transport pet food/supplies
    • Dependability and communication

    Why It Matters

Many of the clients we serve are seniors, individuals with disabilities, or community members facing transportation barriers. These deliveries help ensure pets remain in loving homes while reducing hardship for the people who care for them.

A small amount of your time each month can make an enormous difference.

All Volunteers MUST Embody PRCKC's Core Values: Be Helpful. Build Trust. Be Compassionate.
