    Description

Volunteer GED Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies Tutors - Help Foster Youth Earn GED (Virtual)

Age-Out Angels provides one-to-one virtual tutoring to youth in foster care who live with challenges that have kept them from getting their high school diploma. As current and former youth in foster care, many moved around too often to have a continuous academic opportunity. Many have multiple children by their late teens, many have jobs and have to try to get an education while supporting a household.

Getting their High School Equivalency will change their lives. It will open doors to vocational careers where they can earn enough money to be self-sufficient without assistance from the government. That's where you come in.

First, we will train you to be trauma informed. Many of these youth have suffered tremendously and it is vital that you understand some of the cognitive challenges they may have as a result of that trauma.

Then, we will give you the materials you need to prepare the youth for the High School Equivalency (HSE) examination. (It's not called the GED anymore, but it means the same thing.)

Since this is 100% online, you can live anywhere within the United States. You cannot live outside the US.
