Fundraising Manager - EU Remote

Role Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, Board Treasurer, the Fundraising Manager will lead execution of FAR's three-engine fundraising model: individual donors, grants and public funding, and corporate sponsorships. This role is crucial in hitting Year 1 targets, including 30 to 50 recurring donors, a functioning donor CRM using DonorBox and Orgo, an active grant pipeline, and the organization's bridge funding plan. The Fundraising Manager will work across Spain, the EU, and the US to ensure messaging and compliance are appropriate for each. We prefer that this individual is based in Europe, or a neighboring time zone.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Giving

• Manage the donor CRM (GDPR compliant) and donation platform
• Launch and grow the monthly giving program (Socios/as Fundadores), targeting 30 to 50 recurring donors in Year 1
• Manage donor stewardship system: thank-you communications, impact updates, quarterly newsletters, and annual reports
• Support the UGC ambassador program, recruiting and coordinating 10 to 20 active digital ambassadors on social media
• Track key metrics: total supporters, active donors, recurring donor retention, average gift size, donor acquisition cost

Grants and Public Funding

• Manage the grant pipeline across EU, national, and regional funders (AMIF, CERV, Erasmus+, Generalitat de Catalunya, etc.)
• Research, qualify, draft, submit, and report on grant applications
• Maintain the grant database, funder scoring system, and boilerplate narrative library
• Meet Year 1 targets of four to six grant applications submitted, two to four awarded

Corporate Sponsorships

• Identify and cultivate corporate sponsor prospects aligned with FAR's mission
• Manage sponsorship tiers, proposals, and renewal conversations
• Secure target of two to three corporate sponsorships

Bridge Funding and Special Projects

• Support execution of FAR's bridge plan (Founding Circle gifts, monthly donor sprint, ambassador fundraising, local sponsors)
• Coordinate with events and merchandise efforts to feed the broader donor funnel
• Report progress against the overall funding target at quarterly checkpoints

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure fundraising activity complies with Spanish nonprofit law and GDPR
• Maintain accurate donor records for Modelo 182 tax reporting
• Provide monthly revenue and pipeline reports to the board

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or a related field
• Familiarity with CRM systems and donor databases
• Understanding of EU and/or Spanish nonprofit funding landscape preferred
• Strong written communication skills in English (Spanish and/or Catalan a plus)
• Comfortable working in a startup nonprofit environment with evolving systems
• Commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and FAR's mission
