Digital Content & Social Media Volunteer

Position: Multilingual Social Media, Blog & SEO Volunteer

Organization type: Community wellness, arts, cultural education, and nonprofit programming

Commitment: Flexible; approximately 3–6 hours per week, remote or hybrid depending on your needs

We are seeking a creative and organized volunteer to help expand the online visibility of our community wellness, cultural education, dance, mindfulness, and nonprofit programs.

The volunteer will assist with preparing and sharing blog content across social-media platforms in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese. This role is ideal for someone interested in digital communications, multilingual outreach, nonprofit marketing, community engagement, graphic design, SEO, or culturally responsive storytelling.

Volunteer Responsibilities

• Prepare blog articles for promotion on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and other relevant platforms
• Create simple, attractive graphics, social-media post images, carousels, and visual assets for blog promotion
• Adapt short captions, headlines, calls to action, and hashtags in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese
• Help translate or review social-media content for clarity, cultural appropriateness, and audience engagement
• Schedule or post approved content through the organization’s social-media accounts
• Create social-media captions that direct community members to blog articles, programs, events, and resources
• Support basic blog SEO, including suggested keywords, page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, headings, and internal links
• Help select or generate appropriate images for blog articles and digital campaigns
• Organize content folders, image files, captions, and publishing calendars
• Track basic engagement, such as post reach, clicks, shares, and comments, when available
• Collaborate with the program director to ensure all content reflects the organization’s mission, community values, and voice

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest or experience in social-media communications, digital marketing, nonprofit outreach, or content creation
• Ability to communicate in English; Spanish and/or Mandarin Chinese language skills are strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or YouTube
• Basic experience with Canva or similar graphic-design tools
• Interest in blog writing, SEO, keywords, hashtags, and online audience engagement
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and respect for deadlines
• Appreciation for multicultural, intergenerational, wellness, arts, education, or community-based programming
• Ability to work independently while following brand guidelines and receiving feedback

Experience supporting a mission-driven nonprofit or community organization

Portfolio-ready samples of social-media graphics, multilingual captions, blog-promotion campaigns, and SEO work

Practical experience with Canva, content calendars, social-media scheduling, and digital outreach

Opportunity to support culturally inclusive wellness, dance, arts, mindfulness, and community education programs

Potential reference letter or verification of volunteer service upon successful completion of agreed responsibilities

Flexible remote volunteer experience for students, emerging professionals, multilingual communicators, and digital-marketing volunteers

Location: Remote, or Remote with occasional New York City/Bellerose Terrace meetings if desired

Time commitment: 3–6 hours per week

Schedule: Flexible; weekly coordination/check-in preferred
