    Description

    CCPC – Social Media Coordinator

The Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective (CCPC) was formed in 2021 with the objective of promoting conservation and science education through the production of strong, thought-provoking visual content. The collective is composed of freelance photographers from across the country and from a wide variety of occupational training backgrounds including biology, education, journalism, social work, and business. We believe that working together—combining our strengths, experience, and networks—greatly enhances our ability to shed light on pressing conservation issues and reach, inform, and engage a broader audience.

    Position Summary

The Social Media Coordinator supports the CCPC’s online presence by helping manage and publish content across the collective’s social media platforms. Working collaboratively with other team members, the coordinator will assist with scheduling and posting content, sharing visual stories from our photographers, and engaging audiences around conservation issues and initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Share responsibility with other team members for scheduling and posting social media content.
    • Manage and publish content across several CCPC social media accounts.
    • Schedule posts using available social media scheduling tools where applicable.
    • Manually publish content on platforms that require direct posting.
    • Create ad hoc posts, stories, and updates to highlight campaigns, photographers’ work, and relevant conservation topics.
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across platforms.
    • Monitor engagement and support efforts to reach and connect with broader audiences.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to social media accounts for organizations, projects, or personal brands. Experience creating visual or written content for social media is required.
    • Familiarity with major social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
    • Experience with social media scheduling tools is an asset.
    • Strong interest in conservation, photography, storytelling, or environmental issues.

    Skills & Attributes

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Creativity and an eye for compelling visual storytelling.
    • Attention to detail and ability to follow posting schedules.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote team environment.
    • Interest in using social media to inform, inspire, and engage audiences.
