Description
One consistent adult can change the trajectory of a teen’s life.
Our mentoring program connects caring adult volunteers with teens and young adults (ages 13–23) who are in foster care or transitioning to independence. Many of these youth don’t have a stable, supportive adult in their lives—and that’s where you come in.
As a mentor, your role is simple:
Show up, build a relationship, and be someone they can count on.
You might:
- Grab coffee or a meal together
- Help with homework or job applications
- Practice for a driver’s test
- Talk about goals, relationships, or life decisions
- Do something fun like walking, bowling, or going to a community event
Time Commitment:
Just 4 hours per month—about one hour per week.
Who can volunteer:
- Adults age 25+
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Have reliable transportation and state-required car insurance
- Willing to attend orientation and complete short monthly check-ins
A $30 fee helps cover the cost of the background check.
What we provide:
- Orientation and training
- Ongoing staff support
- Activity ideas and resources
- A meaningful, life-changing volunteer experience
If you’re looking for a simple, impactful way to give back, mentoring could be the perfect fit.
