Data & SEO Insights Analyst - Volunteer

Translation Commons is a nonprofit public charity dedicated to providing a reliable and scalable method for digitally rendering languages. Our mission is to solve the problem of unrepresented languages struggling to participate in a global communications network, and since 2015, we have successfully helped digitize numerous endangered languages.

Overview:

We are looking for a data-savvy volunteer to support Translation Commons' efforts in enhancing its online visibility and impact. This role blends SEO optimization, web analytics, and exploratory research to identify trends, measure engagement, and support language-related outreach.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct SEO audits and optimize on-page/off-page elements
• Use tools like Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and Data Studio to analyze traffic patterns and user engagement
• Research and track interest trends related to languages, localization, or education
• Generate insights that inform digital strategy and outreach efforts
• Collaborate with the Web and Communications teams to align technical changes with content goals

Ideal Skills:

• Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools
• Experience with Google Analytics and/or other web analytics platforms
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Interest in languages, accessibility, and global digital reach
