    Description

We don't just need volunteers. We need builders.

The Suicide Loss Memorial Foundation is a growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Greeley, Colorado — and we are looking for passionate, skilled, creative people who want to use their talents to build something that matters.

We create permanent memorial spaces, community gardens, and youth programming for individuals and families affected by suicide loss across Colorado. We started in Greeley and we are working our way out — with our eyes set on one day reaching every community in this state that needs us.

We have a big vision and a small but mighty team. That means the work you do here will be seen, credited, and felt — not buried in a committee.

What We're Building: We are assembling a volunteer digital team to help us grow our online presence, reach more families, and build sustainable funding streams for our on-the-ground programs. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the voice, look, and reach of a nonprofit that is doing things differently.

We Are Looking For Volunteers In These Areas:

🎨 Content Creation Photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and writers who can help us tell our story in a way that stops people mid-scroll. We want raw, real, powerful content that reflects who we actually are — not stock photos and generic captions.

📱 Social Media Management Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube — we want to be everywhere our community is. We're looking for someone who understands algorithms, engagement, and how to grow an audience organically and intentionally. Bonus points if you've built a following before or have experience with nonprofit social media.

🔥 Viral Campaign Strategy We want to create a giving campaign with the reach and cultural impact of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge — something uniquely Colorado, uniquely us, and impossible to ignore. If you love big creative ideas and know how to execute them across platforms, we want your brain on this.

🛍️ Gift Shop & Merchandise We are building an online gift shop where supporters can purchase branded items that directly fund our programs. We need someone with experience in e-commerce, print-on-demand platforms like Printful or Printify, product design, or online store setup. Every item sold puts money directly into the communities we serve.

📊 Digital Strategy & Analytics If you love data, growth metrics, SEO, email marketing, or digital fundraising strategy — we need you too. Help us understand where we are, where we need to go, and how to get there.

    What You'll Get:

    • The satisfaction of doing work that actually matters and seeing the direct impact
    • A portfolio piece you can be proud of — we will credit your work
    • A letter of recommendation upon request
    • The experience of being part of a growing movement from the ground floor
    • A team that genuinely appreciates you and will never take your time for granted

Who We're Looking For: You don't have to have a resume full of nonprofit experience. You just have to care, be reliable, and bring your skills with intention. Whether you're a student building your portfolio, a professional wanting to give back, or someone personally touched by suicide loss who wants to turn that pain into purpose — there is a place for you here. No experience needed, just a passion to help.

Time Commitment: Flexible. We work around your schedule. Even a few hours a week can move the needle significantly for an organization our size.

Location: Remote-friendly. Most of this work can be done from anywhere in Colorado. Local Greeley/Northern Colorado volunteers are especially welcome for in-person events and content shoots.

To Apply: Reach out through Idealist or email us directly at nicole.arellanoforget@suicidelossmemorialfoundation.org. Tell us a little about yourself, what area you'd like to help with, and why this mission resonates with you. No formal application required — just a real conversation.

Come build something with us. 💙
