    Description

    Instructor for Spanish-Language Basic Digital Skills Classes

    PROJECT DETAILS

    Digital Skills for Life Instructors work as a team to deliver the weekly lesson plan. All curriculum and materials are provided by Mi Casa. Duties include mastering the curriculum and class materials, leading out on group instruction, and managing class progress throughout the duration of the course (can vary from 2 to 3 weeks, depending on topic)

    QUALIFICATION AND COMMITMENT DETAILS

    Proficiency in core digital skills is needed, and experience with digital literacy tutoring is preferred. Instructors should be able to engage respectfully and warmly with adult students from a multicultural background. Spanish-language skills are required.

    Classes are offered once per week for two hours. Instructors will be asked to commit to all sessions (2 or 3, depending on the topic).

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Teaching basic computer skills to participants with little to no experience.
    • Guide students through lessons using computers, the internet, word processing, and email.
    • Provide one-on-one support to students as needed.
    • Foster a welcoming, patient, and encouraging classroom environment.
    • Lesson preparations and classroom setup as needed.
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth class operations.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A basic understanding of computers, the internet, and Google Suite.
    • Good communication skills and patience.
    • A willingness to assist and work with diverse groups of learners.
    • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus but not required. A strong interest in helping others learn is preferred.
