Partnerships and Fundraising Support

About this role

AfriGenetry Link is pursuing partnerships with universities, hospitals, genomic labs, pharmaceutical companies, and government bodies across Africa, the US, the Caribbean, and Brazil, as well as grant funding from foundations and federal agencies. The Executive Director leads all key relationships. This role supports the research, tracking, follow-up, and administrative work that enable those conversations.

What you will do

• Research and identify new grant opportunities across the US, Africa, and the globe, adding qualified opportunities to AGL's grant tracking spreadsheet with deadlines and requirements
• Track the status of all active partnership outreach and follow up on unanswered emails at the direction of the Executive Director.
• Support the preparation of grant application materials — gathering required attachments, formatting documents, and ensuring applications are complete before submission.
• Maintain AGL's partnership and funder contact database.
• Research potential new partners in each category, universities, labs, hospitals, pharma, government, and prepare a one-paragraph summary of each for the Executive Director's review
• Monitor AGL's email inbox for partnership and funding inquiries and flag them for the Executive Director.

• Strong research skills and ability to synthesize information clearly and quickly
• Experience with grant research, fundraising support, or partnership development
• Excellent written communication: you can draft professional emails and summaries
• Highly organized with strong attention to deadlines
• Passionate about African health equity, genomics, diaspora reconnection, or global nonprofit work
• Self-directed, you deliver without needing daily supervision.
