    Description

Community Ambassador @ the Kickoff to Summer at the Minnesota State Fair

This is a one-time chance to represent Memorial Blood Centers at one of our most exciting community events of the year. At the Kickoff to Summer at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, you'll be the face of MBC, connecting with the public, sparking conversations about blood donation, and helping make a high-energy event feel welcoming and mission-driven. Every Ambassador volunteer receives a free ticket to the event.

What You'll Do Community Ambassadors are the connective tissue of this event. You'll work alongside Blood Typing Volunteers to engage attendees, answer questions about blood donation eligibility and upcoming drives, distribute materials, and help create a positive, memorable experience for everyone who stops by.

    • Represent MBC with warmth and professionalism in a busy, festive environment
    • Share information about blood donation and encourage community members to get involved
    • Help recruit donors by promoting upcoming drives
    • Distribute promotional materials and digital resources
    • Provide event feedback to help MBC understand community needs

    What We're Looking For

    • A confident, friendly communicator who enjoys meeting new people
    • Comfortable with tabling and outreach in a public setting
    • Reliable and self-directed — you'll have staff support, but you'll also work independently
    • Able to lift and move supplies up to 25 lbs.
    • Must be 18+ and able to complete a background check (provided at no cost)

    What You'll Receive

    • Full role-specific training and talking points before the event
    • A free ticket to Kickoff to Summer at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds
    • The satisfaction of knowing your conversations directly help bring new donors to MBC's lifesaving mission
