Vitalant is looking for caring, reliable volunteers to support our lifesaving mission through transportation services.

Our transportation volunteers play a vital behind-the-scenes role—helping ensure blood and blood products get where they need to go, safely and on time. These deliveries directly support patients in need in our local hospitals every day.

What Transportation Volunteers Do

• Pick up and deliver blood products between sites and hospitals
• Help with scheduled, same-day, and urgent (STAT/ASAP) deliveries
• Support end-of-day and mid-day transport routes
• Use Vitalant-provided vehicles when needed
• Follow strict safety and handling procedures to protect every product

Why It Matters

Blood components are highly regulated and time-sensitive. Every successful delivery helps ensure lifesaving products reach patients when they need them most.

What We’re Looking For

• Dependable individuals who are comfortable driving and following structured routes
• Strong attention to detail and safety
• Willingness to complete onboarding and training (including background/MVR check and ride-along)
• A commitment to reliability and communication

Training Includes

• Safety and transportation procedures
• Vehicle and route orientation
• Onboarding and mentorship with experienced volunteers
