Description
The purpose of this position is to provide Disaster Mental Health (DMH) services to clients and Red Cross workers during preparedness, response, and recovery within a chapter/region.
Responsibilities for Disaster Mental Health Team Member:
- Participate in relevant meetings and activities as a member of the Disaster mental Health chapter and/or regional team
- Participate in preparedness efforts, such as the Home Fire Campaign or community disaster education
- Support DMH response to local operations, including helping to facilitate mental health-related long-term recovery efforts for local operations when appropriate
- Assist the chapter and/or region in developing partnerships with local mental health agencies
Disaster Mental Health Team Member Qualifications(required)
- Currently Licensed Mental Health Professionals:
- Hold Master's Degree in one of the mental health professions, hold a current, unencumbered license, registered in any U.S. state or territory as a:
- Social Worker
- Psychologist
- Professional Counselor
- Marriage and Family Therapist
- Psychiatrist
- Current Psychiatric Nurse
- Retired Mental Health Professional
- Basic computer skills including ability to navigate some electronic record systems and email
- Have an active RC Care User role of IDC Worker
