Through creative mediums such as art, music, writing, acting, and more, we give young artists the tools to heal, grow, and find strength through expression.

    Position Overview

The 3D Designer/Fabricator for Multimedia plays a key role in shaping immersive digital experiences for A Free Bird’s creative initiatives. This role involves designing, modeling, and fabricating three-dimensional assets that enhance multimedia projects across web, animation, and digital storytelling platforms.

    • Participate in creative review meetings, offering insight into design feasibility and best practices.
    • Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance Painter, Premiere, After Effects), InVision, Sketch, and related design platforms.
    • Apply expertise in storyboarding, visual design, and animation to develop high-quality multimedia content.
    • Support experimentation, testing, equipment coordination, and project documentation.
    • Ensure all deliverables align with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and project timelines.
    • Maintain strong communication and organization while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Film, Multimedia, or a related field.
    • 1–2+ years of experience in 3D design, animation, fabrication, or multimedia production.
    • A portfolio demonstrating relevant 3D, animation, or multimedia work.
    • Proficiency with Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping/design tools (InVision, Sketch, or similar).
    • Strong understanding of animation principles, storyboarding, and visual design.
    • Experience with 3D printers, laser cutters, UV printers, or fabrication tools (preferred but not required).
    • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
