    Description

Prevent waste & stop furniture from going to the landfill!

Furniture Repair Bank is a nonprofit effort that rescues worn, torn, and broken furniture from ending up in the landfill, restores its value and beauty, and provides it to people in need. Join our community of empathic, creative, and handy individuals! Watch our video to learn more about our organization: Furniture Repair Bank feature on Seattle Channel

We conduct furniture collection events at the North and South Transfer Stations, preventing furniture waste at the source. Dates will vary each month. Our truck, tents, and volunteers will be stationed outside the transfer station to divert residents who are planning to throw away usable furniture. Volunteer responsibilities include communicating the program to people lined up in their vehicles, and/or offloading furniture from the customer's vehicle and into our truck.

Volunteers may join for the collection events on-site at the Transfer Stations for a morning or afternoon shift. The North Station needs two volunteers per shift, and the South Station needs four per shift. Sign up with a friend to make it social!
