    Description

    Project Manager & Events Coordinator

    Organization: Lhamen Foundation

Location: Remote (Bay Area candidates preferred for in-person events)

    Commitment: 5–15 hrs/week, flexible

    Compensation: Volunteer / unpaid

    About Lhamen Foundation

Lhamen — from the Tibetan lha (deity, divine) and men (medicine) — upholds the wisdom traditions of Central Asia and the Himalayas through Dharma, healing, chaplaincy, translation of sacred texts, and education. Our work continues the lineage of Lama Tharchin Rinpoche through Drubpon Pema Rigdzin (Lama Freddie), a teacher, healer, and chaplain dedicated to bridging ancient wisdom with the needs of the present.

    The Role

We're looking for a volunteer project manager and events coordinator to help keep Lhamen's programs, teachings, and community gatherings running smoothly. You'll be the organizational backbone behind our public-facing work — coordinating logistics, timelines, and communication so that teachings, ceremonies, and educational programs happen without a hitch.

    What you'll do

    • Plan and coordinate logistics for teachings, retreats, and community events (in person and virtual)
    • Manage timelines and task tracking across ongoing projects and initiatives
    • Coordinate communication between volunteers, teachers, and community members
    • Support venue, scheduling, and vendor logistics for in-person gatherings
    • Help develop simple systems and processes to keep a small, growing organization organized

    What we're looking for

    • Experience in project management, events coordination, or nonprofit operations
    • Strong organizational skills and comfort juggling multiple moving pieces
    • Clear, reliable communication and follow-through
    • Genuine interest in or connection to Dharma, Himalayan wisdom traditions, or contemplative practice is a strong plus, though we welcome organizers still new to the tradition
    • Bay Area location a plus for occasional in-person event support, but not required

    Why volunteer with us

You'll help create the conditions for a centuries-old lineage of healing and wisdom to reach people today — steady, practical work in service of something much larger than logistics.
