    Description

Be a Companion to Hospice Patients in the area Plymouth Area!

At Caretenders Hospice, we understand that volunteers are an integral part of end of life care. Our volunteers make connections with terminally ill residents who need a hand to hold, a heart to listen, or have a story to share.

"Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touched."--Judy Blume

Volunteer companions provide our residents with social and emotion support. During regularly scheduled visits, volunteers participate in activities with the residents such as reading the newspaper or books, taking walks, listening to music, sharing stories and reminiscing, or providing friendship by simply being present in their lives at that particular moment.

Our volunteer companions are the true embodiment of Caretenders Hospice’s mission of enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity in their final journey in life.

Caretenders Hospice serves people residing in their own residence, which may include private homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living communities, and memory care units. We have volunteer positions open in the Plymouth area.

Most of our volunteers commit approximately 1-2 hours of their time each week. Our visiting times are flexible and individualized to what is best for the resident as well as the volunteer. Our volunteers are provided with all the training they may need and given the full support of our dedicated Brookdale Hospice Team.

Our Volunteer Manager, Dana, looks forward to hearing from each of you and start you on your journey.

"If you think you're too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito."
