STEM Gift Drive Volunteers
Details
Description
Help expand access to STEM learning for local youth.
The STEM Gift Drive is a volunteer-led campaign that collects and distributes science, technology, engineering, and math toys, games, and books for youth served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.
Now in its 11th year, the drive has provided more than 2,600 STEM gifts to future innovators who may not otherwise have access to these resources. A single gift can spark curiosity, build confidence, and open doors to future learning opportunities; our goal for 2026 is 1,000.
Ways to volunteer
- Host a gift collection or fundraiser
- Recruit local businesses and organizations to host collection boxes
- Help with community outreach and partnership building
- Assist with event planning and campaign logistics
- Support social media, marketing, and storytelling efforts
- Serve on the campaign committee (year-round commitment)
Time commitment
Our main collection campaign runs from November 1 through mid-December, but volunteers can contribute throughout the year as we plan, recruit partners, and prepare for the campaign. The campaign committee meets monthly.
Who should apply?
You do not need a STEM background. We’re looking for people who enjoy community engagement, organizing, outreach, marketing, or simply want to help inspire future scientists and innovators.
