Here's a great way to get involved in Los Angeles River protection and restoration efforts. Become an active part of the Arroyo Seco Stream Team. We are working to protect nature and to restore steelhead and other native fish to the LA River and the Arroyo Seco watershed.

The Arroyo Seco is a stream and canyon that originates in the San Gabriel Mountains and flows through the Angeles National Forest, as well as Pasadena, La Cañada, Altadena, South Pasadena, and Northeast Los Angeles. It is a key watershed in the Los Angeles River system, particularly for the restoration of Southern California Steelhead. Stewards has been working to implement a dynamic approach to watershed management and river restoration. We've even restored native fish to the stream near the Rose Bowl!

After training, Arroyo Seco Stream Team members can participate in various projects, including water quality sampling, mapping habitats, trout scouting, removing exotic pest plants, conducting trash cleanups, and engaging in public education and advocacy.

The Stream Team also serves as watershed ambassadors, educating stakeholders and the general public about their watershed, a key tributary of the Los Angeles River, and how to be good stewards.
