    Description

    Basic volunteer duties involved with this assignment:

    1. Assist Youth members ages 5-18 with academic studies as requested. Might include reading, writing, science, music, etc.
    2. Teach fiber arts including sewing and stitching, knitting and crocheting, weaving, patchwork, etc.
    3. Organize books into a library for youth and family members based on subjects, interests, educational purposes.
    4. Research and write grants to secure outside funding for the organization.

    Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment:

    Understanding of the subject matter, patience and understanding of youth member needs.

    Youth ages 5-18 and staff.

    What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service?

    Learn a new skill, organization of program materials and supplies, and human engagement and socialization.

    What specific skills will the volunteer need?

    Organization of materials, communication skills, grant-writing, knowledge of specific academic areas of study such as reading, writing, science, music, math, etc.
