95 Counties is seeking a dedicated and creative Newsletter Curator to help strengthen how we communicate with our community. This role will focus on designing, organizing, and elevating our newsletter to ensure it is engaging, accessible, and easy to navigate for all readers.
The Newsletter Curator will play a key role in shaping how our stories, updates, and calls to action are delivered—ensuring our audience stays informed, connected, and inspired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and format our newsletter in Mailchimp in a clear, visually engaging, and user-friendly way
- Organize content into cohesive sections that reflect our mission and ongoing initiatives
- Collaborate with team members to gather updates, stories, and announcements
- Maintain consistency in tone, branding, and messaging
- Explore tools, platforms, and enhancements that improve newsletter delivery and engagement
- Support research and coordination efforts related to potential grant opportunities (including partnerships with organizations such as Amazon) to expand and improve our communications infrastructure
Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience or interest in content design, communications, or digital storytelling
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Creative eye for layout, formatting, and reader experience
- Passion for community-centered work and preserving the stories of American Descendants of Slavery
- Comfortable working collaboratively and meeting light deadlines
- Experience with newsletter platforms (such as Mailchimp, Substack, or similar) is a plus, but not required
