Description
Volunteer Description:
- Volunteers will take attendance for swimming lessons,
- Help direct children,
- Assist swim instructors with gathering equipment as needed
You must be able to:
- Pass a background check
- Speak with children & parents
- Show proof of CPR/AED certification
- If you don't have this, it is obtainable through the Y at a fee of $50
You will be serving children attending YMCA swim lessons and their parents, but also assisting the swim instructors and allowing the lifeguards to watch the water. This position creates a nice relationship between the Y and the community. Allowing parents to sit and watch with comfort, and allowing the lifeguard to relax a bit while they focus on their main job of watching the water. This is an extremely important job, and increases the overall safety of the pool area.
