    College Park Neighborhood Tree Planting

Interested in making a positive impact on your community that will last years? Sign-up to join the KIB team to plant 148 native trees and add to the urban tree canopy in the College Park neighborhood! With your help, the trees we plant will bring the benefits of cleaner air, carbon mitigation, and stormwater retention to Indianapolis communities. The tree planting demonstration will begin at 9:05am the latest, please be sure to arrive to find parking ahead of the start time to ensure you learn how to properly plant a tree.

Are you new to planting trees or do you need a refresher? Check out this great video on How to Plant a Tree!

Safety: We highly recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes. We always recommend bringing a reusable water bottle but we will have disposable cups available if needed. KIB will provide tools and gloves.

Parking and Facilities: Parking will be available at the College Park Club parking lot, and additional street parking will be available nearby. A portalet will be available for use.

Neighborhood Information: College Park is a northside neighborhood located near 86th Street and Michigan Road. Developed primarily in the 1960s-1970s, the neighborhood became a popular place to live for families seeking suburban living with convenient access to employments centers and shopping. College Park is known for its quiet residential streets and proximity to parks, shopping, and major highways.

Fun Facts: The area takes its name from nearby colleges and the growth of education and medical institutions on the northwest side, including the nearby St. Vincent Medi cal Campus and Marian University. College Park is also home of the Pyramids, a landmark office complex designed in the late 1960s that became one of the city’s most recognizable architectural features.

    • While we love group attendance at volunteer projects, all participants in a group must be registered individually.
