🫂Patient Support Volunteer – North County | Apreva Hospice

Become a Patient Support Volunteer with Apreva Hospice

Bring Comfort, Connection, and Joy to Those Who Need It Most

Do you enjoy heartfelt conversations, playing games, or sharing stories over music or a good book? Apreva Hospice is seeking compassionate Patient Support Volunteers in North County to provide companionship and meaningful connection to hospice patients during their end-of-life journey.

Your presence can make a profound difference for someone who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation.

    What You’ll Do

Patient Support Volunteers provide social companionship and emotional support through simple but meaningful activities such as:

    • Engaging in friendly conversations with patients
    • Playing board games or cards
    • Listening to or sharing music
    • Reading books, poetry, or magazines aloud
    • Offering a calm, supportive presence during regular visits

Volunteers help create moments of comfort, connection, and dignity for patients and their families.

    No Experience? No Problem.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and life experiences. No prior hospice or healthcare experience is required.

Apreva Hospice provides comprehensive volunteer training so you feel confident and supported in your role.

    Who We’re Looking For

    We’re seeking volunteers who are:

    • Friendly, compassionate, and empathetic
    • Good listeners who enjoy meaningful conversations
    • Reliable and respectful of hospice boundaries and patient confidentiality
    • Willing to complete our hospice volunteer training program

    Why It Matters

    • Reduce feelings of loneliness
    • Lift spirits during difficult moments
    • Provide comfort and human connection
    • Support patients and families during a meaningful stage of life
