Cafe Volunteer

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bok Tower Gardens is seeking volunteers to help with delivering cooked food to the guests seated at tables and keep the dining areas clean and hazard free. Additionally, volunteers will keep an eye on the condiment/beverage areas to keep items stocked. This opportunity is a great way to connect with the guests who may have questions about Bok Tower Gardens. Cafe volunteers should be ready to answer these questions or know where to find the information.

Shifts are available from 11am to 3pm Sunday through Saturday. Volunteers should be prepared for business rushes that may make the cafe become busier than usual. Attire should be nonoffensive with closed toed shoes. Nail polish should be avoided while volunteering.

Gardener Support

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bok Tower Gardens is looking for volunteers with a passion for gardening to serve alongside the horticulture team to help maintain and encourage the growth of the Gardens. This opportunity will utilize skills such as deadheading, weeding, and trimming.

Volunteers will be needed for shifts Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm primarily. This opportunity does require a lot of working with the hands, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working outside. Sunscreen, headwear, and water are highly recommended.

Greeter

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bok Tower Gardens is in need of a greeter at their information booth. Greeters will welcome visitors and answer any questions or direct the visitor to the information. Volunteer greeters play a crucial role in ensuring visitors have the information and resources necessary for a successful and stress-free visit.

This opportunity has two shifts. From May 1st to the Sunday after Thanksgiving Day shifts are available from 11am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday (weekend only). From the Monday after Thanksgiving to April 30th shifts are available from 11am to 3pm Sunday through Saturday (all week).

Guide for El Retiro

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bok Tower Gardens is looking for volunteer guides to educate visitors on the historic El Retiro home. The ideal candidate to be a guide is passionate about history and loves to engage others in historic topics, enjoys public speaking and meeting people from a variety of backgrounds and knowledge, and are able to multitask. Guides are also responsible for watching for safety risks and ensuring guests are following the tour guidelines.

This opportunity has two shifts. From May 1st to Thanksgiving Day tours are held from 10:45am to 3:30pm Tuesday through Sunday. From the day after Thanksgiving to April 30th tours are held from 9:45am to 4:30pm Tuesday through Sunday.

Natural Areas Support

This is a volunteer opportunity, not a paid position.

Bok Tower Gardens is seeking volunteers to help restore and preserve the conservation lands with the land management team. Tasks include eliminating invasive plants and weeds that are depriving native plants from getting the proper nutrients and water needed for growth. Additionally, some light landscaping will allow the gardens to show their natural beauty and keep walkways safe for visitors.

Volunteers will be needed for shifts Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm primarily. This opportunity does require a lot of bending, kneeling, reaching, and working outside. Sunscreen, headwear, and water are highly recommended.
