    Description

    Volunteer needed- patient related

Do you derive satisfaction from offering support and encouragement to others, even through something as straightforward as a phone conversation?

Are you eager to make a meaningful impact within your community?

We are currently seeking individuals with a strong capacity for compassion and empathy to provide emotional support to our patients, their families, and friends who are navigating an exceptionally difficult period in their lives.

By volunteering with our hospice patients, you will offer them, their families, and friends’ reassurance, conversation, and companionship, as well as the gift of your time.

Simple actions, such as reading to patients, engaging in games, like checkers, sitting with them while they watch their favorite television program, or allowing their loved ones to take a respite, bring immense joy and comfort.

    Additional volunteer opportunities include:

    • Dog walker
    • Lawn care
    • Errands
    • Weekly phone call
    • Game activities
    • Light housekeeping
    • &more

    To qualify

    • you must be 18 years old (14-17 years old as a junior volunteer with parental consent, and supervision)
    • pass a background check

    Mission statement

At Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, we believe hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Our goal is to bring dignity and comfort home by offering compassionate care to patients and their families during the final stages of life.

    Description

Enhabit is looking for a volunteer to provide patient-related companionship to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.

A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
