Every young person deserves someone who believes in them.
Through the Dare to Dream® Program, New Jersey Angels match youth impacted by foster care with caring, committed adult mentors who provide encouragement, support, and guidance as they navigate life's challenges and opportunities.
Many of the youth we serve have experienced significant change, loss, and uncertainty. A consistent, trusted mentor can help them build confidence, develop life skills, explore their goals, and dream about their future.
What You'll Do
As a Dare to Dream mentor, you will:
- Meet with your mentee at least twice per month
- Build a positive, supportive relationship through shared activities and conversations
- Encourage personal growth, goal setting, and self-confidence
- Help youth explore educational, career, and life opportunities
- Celebrate milestones and accomplishments
- Be a consistent, caring adult presence in a young person's life
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Able to commit to a minimum of one year
- Willing to complete volunteer onboarding, background checks, and training
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to building healthy relationships
- No previous mentoring experience required
