    Description

The Volunteer Director of Salesforce will oversee the strategic management and optimization of the Salesforce platform to support Dream Factory of Brooklyn’s mission: granting dreams to critically and chronically ill children. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring Salesforce is effectively used for tracking relationships, donations, engagements, and internal operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce administration, experience leading teams, and familiarity with project management tools to support collaboration and task execution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the administration and optimization of the Salesforce CRM platform, including user roles, permissions, workflows, and data governance.
    • Supervise and guide a team of volunteers or interns working on Salesforce-related tasks, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
    • Implement strategies to improve Salesforce functionality across fundraising, donor relations, volunteer coordination, and outreach efforts.
    • Customize fields, layouts, automations, and workflows based on the evolving needs of the organization.
    • Create and manage reports and dashboards to monitor KPIs and enable data-driven decision-making.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with privacy and security standards.
    • Provide training and support to staff and volunteers, offering technical guidance and resolving user issues.
    • Collaborate with Development and Marketing teams to align Salesforce usage with broader engagement strategies.
    • Stay current with Salesforce updates, features, and best practices; lead the implementation of enhancements.
    • Document processes and maintain internal guidelines to ensure continuity and knowledge transfer.
    • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Freedcamp) to assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator or Consultant, ideally within a nonprofit organization.
    • Salesforce Administrator Certification required.
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing projects using digital project management platforms.
    • Proficiency in creating custom reports, dashboards, workflows, and automations in Salesforce.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
    • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.

    Commitment:

Approximately 10 hours per week. This is a flexible, remote volunteer role with most responsibilities conducted virtually.
