    Description

Help Package Frozen, Nutritious Meals for Older Adults!

Optage Meals is looking for production helpers to package food for seniors—no prior kitchen experience necessary!

Optage Meals in a nonprofit organization that produces and delivers homemade meals to seniors and disabled adults in the Twin Cities. The heart of our mission is to fill in the gap for individuals who have barriers to purchasing and preparing their own food. Our volunteers play a key role in enabling our kitchen to produce meals for over 3,000 customers on a regular basis!

Our volunteers in the production room help scoop food into the plastic trays they'll be sealed in. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who are excited to work in a fast-paced environment and learn what goes on behind the scenes in a commissary kitchen! Production volunteers must be able to stand for a 1-2 hour shift and keep up with a relatively fast production line. Our production volunteers have a profound impact on the number of meals we're able to produce and the number of clients we're able to serve.

If you have any questions whether this opportunity would be a good fit for your skill level or physical abilities, we would be glad to give you more information! All volunteers in the kitchen must wear a hairnet and plastic gloves in order to adhere to Minnesota Department of Health regulations.

    BENEFITS:

    • Make a meaningful impact on seniors by supporting meal production
    • Build connections with our amazing kitchen staff
    • Gain practical kitchen experience
