Optage Meals is a commissary kitchen that is dedicated in providing nutritious meals to seniors and disabled adults in the greater Twin Cities Metro area. Our kitchen produces made-from-scratch food products and serves Presbyterian Homes locations as well as other organizations. Volunteers are needed to help with tasks such as portioning food products and assembling meals for daily deliveries. Volunteers play a key role in enabling our kitchen to produce up to 3,000 meals per day for our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS:
- Assist the kitchen staff by portioning food products on an assembly line
- Package sides
- Lay down plastic trays on the assembly line for food to be scooped into
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enjoy working with a diverse population and helping people
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for a 1-2 hour shift
- Ability to keep up with a relatively fast-moving assembly line
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position is located within the Optage Meals commissary kitchen. We require all people working in the kitchen to follow the Minnesota Department of Health regulations, such as using a hairnet, a chef’s coat, and wearing close-toed shoes.
