    Description

    Art Program Volunteer

    This position couldn’t be more hands on in directly achieving our mission. As an Art Program Volunteer you will have the opportunity to build art kits and/or engage with children through creating art. Please note, you do not need to be a professional artist or formally trained. You just need to love helping children and see value in the process of creating art.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Art Hour:

    Work with Volunteer Coordinator to ensure training is complete and

    compliance is maintained

    • Facilitate art projects
    • Engage with children and their families
    • Complete Art Hour Volunteer Documentation at the end of every shift
    • Cultivate and nurture relationships with volunteer team, hospitals, families, and donors

    Position Requirements

    • Have transportation to volunteer sites
    • Commitment to twice-monthly art hour events
    • Access to email and a computer
    • Purchase Volunteer T-shirt
    • Pass a background check
    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Demonstrates professionalism
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all age groups, children and adults
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Ability to recognize problems and respond appropriately

    Our Purpose

    We stand at the intersection of art, science & compassion to help children defeat illness. Our mission is to bring joy, creativity and self expression to these kids. We do this through our Art Kit and Art Hour programs. In addition to our programs, we host art events and partner with other organizations who have joined the fight in defeating childhood cancer.
