    Description

    Water Insecurity Correction Coalition, Inc. (referred to as “WICC”) seeks to appoint Advisory Board Members to provide strategic guidance, advice, and oversight on the long-term goals of WICC. Board Members have an initial two-year term, with one renewal term thereafter. Board meetings will be held remotely every month at an agreed-upon time. Board members are expected to commit 1-5 hours per month to position duties.

    Service on WICC’s Advisory Board is without compensation, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to the Advisory Board’s duties.

    Specific Board Member responsibilities include:

    • Know WICC’s mission, policies, programs, and needs.
    • Faithfully read and understand WICC’s financial statements, Board materials, and bylaws in advance of meetings.
    • Help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and influence public policy.
    • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in Board meetings.
    • Engage in learning opportunities to better understand the community your organization serves.
    • Respect the experiences of all who bring their voices and lived experiences onto the Board and into the Boardroom and the organization.
    • Actively participate in voting and discussions on key business through informed deliberation and decision-making.
    • Ensure WICC’s commitment to a diverse Board and staff that reflects the communities WICC serves.
    • Represent WICC to stakeholders; acting as an ambassador for the organization.
    • Contribute to fundraising efforts that maximize Members’ diverse strengths and capacities.

    We are looking for mission-aligned individuals ages 18-30 located in the U.S. with leadership experience, dedication to the values of collaboration & integrity, a commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion and environmental justice, and expertise in one or more of the following areas:

    • Nonprofit Management
    • Water Insecurity Issues
    • Nonprofit Policy Advocacy
    • Fundraising & Development
    • PR/Marketing/Communications
    • Project Management
    • Youth Engagement/Education
