    Description

    Help Fund Critical Services for Children with Autism - Volunteer at the Mitchell's Place Dragon Boat Race & Festival

    Mitchell's Place's 6th Annual Dragon Boat Race & Festival is a family-friendly community event benefiting children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The event takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at East Lake Park in Birmingham. Teams race dragon boats on the lake to raise money for our kiddos! Volunteers play a vital role in helping make the event a success and ensuring participants, teams, sponsors, and guests have a positive experience throughout the day.     Volunteer positions include event setup, team check-in, assisting in the kids' zone, supporting the cocktail contest, distributing information, helping with event logistics, and event breakdown.

    Volunteer shifts are available 7:00–10:00 AM, 9:45 AM–1:00 PM, and 12:45–3:30 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at East Lake Park in Birmingham. Individuals, families, community groups, and corporate teams are welcome.
