    Description

Be the friendly voice (and eyes & ears) behind our phones and inbox!

Do you love cats, care about connecting people to the resources they need, and have a couple of quiet hours a week to spare? The Cat Sanctuary is looking for a warm, reliable volunteer to help us stay connected with our community β€” one phone call and one email at a time.

    Why this role matters

Every call and email that comes into The Cat Sanctuary is a chance to help β€” whether it's someone who found a stray kitten, a family hoping to adopt, or a fellow animal lover wanting to volunteer or donate. You'll be one of our most important links to the outside world, making sure no one who reaches out ever feels unheard.

    What you'll do

      • Check voicemails and incoming calls, answering questions when you can
      • When a call needs extra expertise, pass it along to a senior volunteer with a quick, friendly note
      • Keep a simple phone log so we always know who called and what they needed
      • Check The Cat Sanctuary's email inbox and respond to messages, or forward anything that needs special attention
      • Help make sure every person who reaches out gets a kind, timely response

    What we're looking for

      • A friendly, patient communicator who enjoys helping people
      • Comfortable using email and basic organizational tools (a simple log β€” paper or digital, whatever works for you!)
      • Reliable and detail-oriented β€” you'll help keep our records straight
      • No experience necessary β€” just a caring heart and a bit of consistency

    The details

      • Time commitment: Just 2 hours per week
      • Schedule: Totally flexible β€” do it any time of day or night, whenever works for your life
      • Location: Remote! Handle calls and emails from wherever you are
      • Training: We'll walk you through everything you need to know to get started

    Why volunteers love this role

This is one of the easiest ways to make a real difference for cats in need β€” no cleaning litter boxes required (unless you want to)! You'll be the calm, caring voice that reassures a worried caller, the helpful reply that welcomes a new adopter, and the quiet hero who keeps our sanctuary running smoothly behind the scenes.

Ready to purr-fectly fit into our team?

We'd love to hear from you! Reach out to The Cat Sanctuary today to learn more about becoming our next Volunteer Communications Champion.
