Middle School Debate Judging Opportunity (No Experience Needed)
Details
Description
Chicago Debates is offering a stipend for judges that help support our Public Forum debate students. The tournament will be in Hyde Park; round 1 is from 4:15pm-5:15pm, round 2 is from 5:15pm-6:15pm CST. Judges may volunteer for one or both rounds.
Judges will enter their assigned classroom with two teams of two middle school debate students, listen to their arguments, take notes, keep track of speech times, pick a winner based on closing arguments, and provide feedback on their verbal skills.
We pay $15 per round. Previous knowledge of Public Forum debate and the assigned debate topic are not required, we offer Public Forum Judge Training. Judges give their feedback based on argument construction, not personal beliefs.
