Description
Hospice Patient Support Volunteers provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and families during an important stage of life. Volunteers do not provide medical care—instead, they offer presence, comfort, and human connection.
This is a meaningful opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, social services, psychology, counseling, or anyone seeking to make a difference through kindness and empathy. Internship opportunity available.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Provide friendly visits and companionship to hospice patients
- Engage in activities such as conversation, reading, listening to music, or quiet presence
- Offer emotional support and comfort to patients and families
- Support patients according to their preferences and needs
- Communicate observations or concerns to hospice staff as appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
