    Description

The Lily Foundation & Advocates is a 501(c)(3) healthcare advocacy organization dedicated to improving patient navigation, caregiver support, healthcare literacy, and access to community-centered resources. Founded in 2025, our mission is to stand beside patients and families navigating fragmented healthcare systems, ensuring their dignity is preserved and their care is maximized.

As an early-stage startup, building donor trust, maintaining accurate records, and demonstrating direct community impact are vital to our long-term sustainability. We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Donor Relations Specialist to help lay the foundation for our individual giving and stewardship programs.

    Role Overview & Commitment

In this role, you will help build and maintain meaningful, transparent relationships with our supporters. You will work closely with executive and development leadership to ensure every donor understands the direct impact of their generosity on patient advocacy.

    • Target Commitment: ~10 hours per week, focused on donor communication, record stewardship, campaign execution, and data accuracy.
    • Flexible & Remote: 100% remote and asynchronous—contribute on a schedule that fits your routine.
    • Humanitarian Impact: Directly support health equity initiatives by helping fuel the resources needed for community listening sessions, navigation tools, and patient support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Donor Stewardship & Communications: Draft and send timely, personalized acknowledgment letters, impact stories, and campaign updates to maintain donor engagement and transparency.
    • Database & Data Governance: Help maintain accurate donor records within our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, ensuring contribution tracking complies with our organizational data protection and privacy policies.
    • Campaign Execution: Assist in executing individual giving initiatives, seasonal appeals, and digital campaigns across our communication channels (including platform tools like Zeffy or integrated CRMs).
    • Donor Re-Engagement & Analytics: Collaborate with leadership to review basic donor engagement trends, identify opportunities for re-engagement, and support donor retention strategies.
    • Ethical Narrative Management: Ensure patient and community stories shared with donors adhere to informed consent and privacy protocols.

    Essential Skills & Qualifications

    • Mission Alignment: Deep commitment to patient empowerment, health equity, and transparent organizational stewardship.
    • Communication & Technical Writing: Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, empathetic donor thank-you notes and impact summaries.
    • Tech & Data Comfort: Experience with or strong willingness to learn cloud-based donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Zeffy, or related CRMs) and shared office tools.
    • Attention to Detail: High regard for data privacy, accurate record-keeping, and ethical data handling.
    • Note: If you do not meet every technical requirement, we are happy to provide training; a strong willingness to learn our systems and data practices is essential.

    Educational & Professional Benefits

    • Gain practical, hands-on experience in non-profit fundraising infrastructure, CRM management, and donor stewardship.
    • Directly contribute to building the operational DNA of an emerging healthcare advocacy organization.
    • Receive a professional reference and recommendation upon successful completion of a 6-month term.
