Lace up, bring the kids, grab some pom poms—this is the fun, family-friendly race where your Saturday morning actually changes lives.
The 4th Annual Impact Road Race is Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Oak Mountain State Park (Dogwood Pavilion / 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham). Timed 5K and 10K plus a 1-Mile Fun Run that is perfect for walkers, strollers, grandparents, and first-timers. Packet pickup starts at 7 a.m.; races run 8–10 a.m. Open-road course, finisher medals, age-group awards, sponsor prizes, and post-race snacks (yes, including those Chick-fil-A biscuits). All proceeds fund Seeds of Impact’s free parenting classes and support for moms in recovery.
You don’t have to run to belong here. Volunteers make the morning feel like a community picnic with a purpose.

Where you can serve
Registration Team Smile at the first faces of the day: last-minute sign-ups, RaceDay check-in, bibs, shirts, and swag bags. High-need: check-in and packet pickup. Ages 16+.
Set Up & Take Down Early crew: course markers, water tables, signs, unloading. After the last finisher, pack it all so the park looks like we were never there. High-need. Take-down: ages 15+.
Route Team Keep everyone safe and on course—Intersection Director at Terrace and John Findley (high-need), Turn Around Directors at the 1-mile / 5K / 10K marks (ages 13+), and Race Caboose following the last runner so no one is left behind.
Cheer Team The loudest jobs on the course. Water tables at ~1.25 miles (5K, high-need, ages 10+) and ~3.1 miles (10K, high-need), plus cheer leaders at start, finish, and turnarounds. Cowbells, signs, and kids who love to yell “You’ve got this!” are a perfect fit.
Race Experience Prize table (draw winning bibs and snap winner photos), awards table, and finish-line refreshments. Keep the celebration joyful and tidy.
Crowd & Mission Marketing table near the finish: talk with families and share why Seeds of Impact exists. Crowd Engagement: greet people, grab short interviews, tell the story.
