Description
Companion Volunteers: Also known as Patient Care Volunteers, Companion Volunteers are part of a patient’s care team. They make home visits to offer companionship for patients and relief for caregivers. Examples of patient care volunteer opportunities include reading to the patient, assisting with a hobby, listening, running errands, or grocery shopping.
Requirements to join Legacy Hospice:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- If you are fully vaccinated from COVID-19 we will request a copy.
- Must pass a background check & drug screen (THC exemption). You do not incur costs associated with this process.
- Complete a two-part online volunteer training.
- Part 1: 9 Video recorded lectures to include 6 learning modules (quizzes with each module) and 3 bonus modules (no quizzes).
- Part 2: Supplemental Agency Specific Orientation at the office.
- Receive a PPD screening at no expense to you.
- Be committed to your patient care plan assignment making visits each month (you pick the day and time…it’s your schedule and it’s flexible but the expectation is that you visit at least 2X a month). Complete visit reports 48 hours after visit.
