    Description

When God created the horse. . .

"When God created the horse, he said to the magnificent creature:

I have made thee as no other.

All the treasures of the earth shall lie between thine eyes.

Thou shalt cast thy enemies beneath thy hooves,

but thou shalt carry my friends upon thy back.

Thy saddle shall be the seat of prayers to me.

And thou shalt fly without any wings, and conquer without any sword." -- the Koran

We believe we attempt to do God's work, in saving horses. All the horses that come through our Sanctuary are worthy. The only thing they have in common is: they had bad owners in the past. We have therefore made a covenant with them: no bad owners in the future. As I have aged and become crippled, myself, I require the help of volunteers to keep the farm running. I believe my passing down the torch by giving freely of my lifetime of experience and expensive, extensive equine education, is fair recompense for the labor my volunteers give. No two days are alike. There is a lengthy list of tasks to be done from which volunteers choose freely which they want to accomplish. There is a short list of required daily tasks (primarily feeding). There is little to no mucking of stalls, as horses are turned out to pasture 24/7. There is plenty of free time for volunteers' own pursuits.
